In Social Media Land, Content is King. You Must Establish Trust

There are mountains of blogs out there. But how can you make yours center stage while competing in the vast social media blog world?  There are a lot of factors that contribute to how to create a successful blog, but the most important is relevant content.

Content establishes trust

By providing good content to your readership, you create an immediate relationship and trust with your readers.  Trust is the most important factor to creating good content, because after it is established, the reader will be confident in what they are reading and always come back for more.  Better yet?  They might even spread your content to their social networks. Michael Brito touches on this issue in his post on Social Media Explorers blog

Stick to your values

It isn’t always easy to provide good content, but it is important to uphold your blog audience’s trust.  Make sure you set up guidelines for your blog.  If your business, for example, is a restaurant, relate it back to your restaurant’s core values.  Common ones may be customer service, quality, and presentation.  This way you can keep your posts to the point and revolving around excellent content that will keep your audience engaged  and craving more.

Do you agree that establishing trust through quality content is a key to successful social media marketing?  Do you have tips for building trust and producing quality content?

FanTools also provides support and managed services to businesses who don’t have the resources to devote to managing social with the tool.

Ryan Ruud, Four51′s director of marketing, and Jason Falls of Social Media Explorer caught up last week to talk a bit about the challenges his customers have. Ryan will be serving on the B2B panel at Explore Minneapolis and has some interesting perspective on the business-to-business space, but also has gained a wealth of experience helping brands solve social media marketing problems.

You won’t want to miss the business insights Ryan Ruud has to give at Explore Minneapolis. He’ll be on the B2B panel there, speaking along with an all-star lineup that includes SME Digital’s Nichole Kelly, The Now Revolution co-author Jay Baer, Edison Research’s Tom Webster, Ad Contrarian Bob Hoffman and more. Jason Falls will also be speaking, as well as hosting. The event will also feature a number of excellent software providers and companies to help you navigate the waters of digital marketing. They’ll bring their knowledge to share as well as their products. This is a must-attend event, so register now!

The two-day event, incredible content, breakfast, lunch and a cocktail reception is $450, but if you’re a member of a professional organization (IABC, PRSA, AMA or similar), ask if they have a discount code for you and save big! (Shhhh … you can save $200 by using the code ILOVESME … pass it on!) Learn more about the speakers, their topics and more at the Explore Minneapolis registration page!
